Objective
Arizona-based HelmsBriscoe, the nation's leading purchaser in meetings and event services, called upon Sullivan Group to produce a portion of its annual business event in June of 2007.

Production Management
The production, which drew 1.400 attendees to Houston, encompassed the Hilton Americas and Hyatt Regency, the George R. Brown Convention Center and the Hobby Theater for Performing Arts. However, it was a downtown thoroughfare that stole the show.

After the awards ceremony at Hobby Center, HelmsBriscoe delegates moved outside to Texas Avenue, with its historic venues, restaurants and bars, for an "afterglow" party. According to Sullivan Group's design, the street was "privatized" for a few hours for the HelmsBriscoe event. That meant that we bought out six venues, coordinated staging and entertainment on the street, and arranged for the services of the Houston Police Department and Emergency Medical Services. All worked in connection for the mutual goal of a world class evening.

Results
HelmsBriscoe had held its previous meetings in New York, Las Vegas and Palm Springs. Houston did more than hold its own in comparison to those  high-profile cities of entertainment. HelmsBriscoe's Peter Shelly, Executive Vice President, called the 2007 event the best in the company's history.
